ABOUT ME

I am a wife, mom, former Kindergarten teacher with an MBA, local Evergreen resident, and someone who is deeply committed to doing good things in the world! When folks ask me how I got into insurance, I love to tell them that insurance found me. I loved the idea of taking my prior experience in education to help folks learn how to protect themselves and their family and to set themselves up for a brighter future. I am not a salesperson; I'm an educator at heart!

As a member of the Wildfire Committee of the Mountain Metro Association of Realtors, I've spent time learning about the unique factors that go into insuring homes in Colorado's high-risk wildfire zones ...things like defensible space, roofing materials, and access road requirements. I love helping homeowners in Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, Kittredge, and the surrounding foothill communities understand these factors so they know what to expect and how to be prepared. Education first, always.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

I am committed to supporting causes in our local mountain community and currently serve as the President of the Board of Directors of the Bootstraps Scholarship Organization, which awards scholarships to local high school seniors in our mountain community to allow them to pursue their educational dreams through college or career and technical programs. I am a member of the Evergreen Chamber of Commerce, The Conifer Area Chamber of Commerce, and Mountain Women in Business. I serve on the Wildfire Committee of the Mountain Metro Association of Realtors and have previously served on their Board of Directors as the Affiliate Chair. I have also served on the Jeffco Public Schools District Accountability Committee, Jeffco Public Schools Family Engagement Committee, and Conifer High School PTA.

My agency is committed to giving of our time and talents to make our amazing community even stronger. I'm proud to financially support local organizations in the community such as Bootstraps Scholarship Organization, Mount Evans Home Health Care and Hospice-Camp Comfort, Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, Resilience 1220, Evergreen Animal Protection League (EAPL), EvergreenChristian Outreach (EChO), PeaceWorks Inc., Girls on the Fly, Evergreen Chamber Orchestra, Center for the Arts Evergreen (CAE), Conifer Rotary-285 Backpack Project, Mountain Foothills Rotary-Inspire Golf Tournament, Mountain Resource Center, Evergreen Sustainability Alliance, Evergreen High School and Conifer High School academic and sport programs, as well as numerous other local non-profit organizations.

My husband Eric and I are happy to call Evergreen home. We absolutely love our mountain town and avail ourselves of all that this great community has to offer. I'm absolutely thrilled to have an agency that SERVES this great community by being there when it matters most!

A NOTE FOR HOMES IN HIGH WILDFIRE-RISK AREAS

Living in Evergreen means living close to nature — and for many of us, that's exactly why we're here. It also means being thoughtful about wildfire risk when it comes to home insurance. If your property sits in or near a designated wildfire risk zone, I'm happy to walk through what that can mean for your policy and answer any questions you have.

A few things that often come up in these conversations: maintaining proper defensible space and a non-combustible "hard space" immediately around your home, the type of roofing and exterior materials your home has, and whether emergency vehicles have clear, year-round access to your property. The Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) has put together a helpful Wildfire Prepared Home standard that outlines what this looks like in practice, and following guidance like this is one of the most empowering things a homeowner can do for their property, their neighbors, and the broader community.

As with any policy, final coverage decisions are made by State Farm underwriters based on a full review of the application — but having a clear understanding of your home's situation going into that process can make things feel a lot less overwhelming.
